Today’s work. Top on is a feather damascus razor in progress. With feather pattern, there isn’t a whole lot of forging to be done, because any excessive forging distorts the feather pattern. Instead it’s just a matter to getting it to the correct width, and squeeze the tang a bit. The razor coming out of this damascus is going to have an identical counterpart in wootz.
And I’m making the damascus one first because the exact shape is going to be determined in part by how the pattern is exposed. The wootz razor will be shaped to that shape.
Below that are 2 wootz razor blanks I forged to make straight razors styled in my W&B Ottoman interpretation. They are forged pretty close to size.
