This is going to be an awesome kitchen knife.
The handle is fossil mammoth rib, the bolster is going to be stabilized mammoth molar and the bladevitself is wootz.
Today i shaped the handle and drilled the tang hole. Next is the bolster plate. The blade itself won’t be finish polished and etched until everything is done and test fitted. I want to prevent accidentally scratching the blade.
I love how this handle is turning out. I am preserving the fossilization colors in the middle of the handle, and shaping the handle around those areas.
Now it is time to hand polish the handle and seal the surface with ca.
