Ladder damascus kitchen knife blank

Today i helped my oldest daughter forge a bottle opener, and since the forge was at temp when we were done, i decided to forge a kitchen knife from a piece of ladder damascus i had made a long time ago.

Overall i am pretty happy with how it turned out. It has the distal taper forged in already, the blade shape is almost exactly what the finished shape will be, and the bevels are forged in.

All in all this one shouldn’t take more than simple cleanup before heat treatment.
