This is a project I recently finished: a 1086 carbon steel hunting knife with olivewood handle. It has a sabre grind, and also a distal taper. This makes for a very strong blade near the handle, fit for demanding tasks, and a very fine tip for precision work.
The knife has been used several times during hunting , and is holding up well.
